In comparison to now, technology in sport means having the likes of Hawk Eye in Croke Park, Television Match Officials at rugby matches and Ref Cam’s for referees in Ladies Football. These are all major in their own right because it makes it improve the game at the highest level. However, even though they have brought huge improvements to the game has it brought disappointment to others? Possibly. Hawk Eye was first brought into Croke Park in 2013, this day changed the GAA for the better even if Kilkenny won the All Ireland in 2014 on the strength of it. Many a decision was made through Hawk Eye proving scores which players themselves believed they would have gotten, this was definitely a worthwhile investment in technology for sport in Ireland and for the GAA respectively
Finally, technology has most definitely changed the world everywhere in some way shape or form. Countries all over world have injected billions into creating the most high tech machine and developed it of the highest degree. Not one individual could stop this from occurring because that is simply unachievable of any standards but what we can do is stop letting it take over lives as easy as what it has been doing. Technology in sport has changed a lot and it counts for a lot as well. The last question I will pose is does technology change the origin of sport? Or has it had too much of an influence in the sporting world indirectly suggests technological doping? I will leave that up to you to decide.
