Today the Irish market offers you 39 different energy drink products. This may not seem very alarming to most of you who read this but while comparing this figure to 2002, Ireland as a nation only had 10 products to offer. When you break this figure down in 14 years the range of sugary caffeine laden energy drinks have multiplied almost fourfold with an average of 2 new products hitting Irish shelves a year.

Utilising the fact that the majority of the population have little to no knowledge base when it comes to eating healthy or getting in shape. This unfortunately has to do with our education system not informing us about healthy living from a young age, this is not the road we will be going down with this argument so we will get back on track.

Juggling all this can be quite stressful and often us students forget to look after ourselves in terms of health and exercise. The last thing us students need to be worrying about is piling on the extra few pounds! (That’s what the Christmas holidays are for) With this in mind I do realise not all students are like this! Some students might not put on weight, some students may not drink, some students are more active or sportier then others but that doesn’t necessarily mean there isn’t room for improvement to a healthier college life. So I got thinking, why not make your student life easier and give you 8 tips that will not only improve your overall health but may even help turn some stubborn flab to fab!
